A partnership firm is a business enity where two or more individuals agree to invest their capital, skills, and resources to manage a profitable business and share its financial gains and losses. In this arrangement, the members are individually called partners and are collectively recognized as a firm under their chosen firm name.
In India, such organisations are legally governed by the Indian Partnership Act, 1932.

Registrations of Partnership firms under Indian Partnership Act, 1932 Section 58 & Rules 4(2) of I.P. Act 1932.
I. List of Documents required:
Fill in Form No.1 duly filled and signed by all the partners and a Judicial Magistrate or a Charted Accountant must be a witness. The nature of business should be stated in brief along with the names of the firm at item-A
Signature of the partners should be given in full
Certified copy of the Registration Deed of Partnership in original should be enclosed alongwith Form No.1, which will be returned after verification.
If the Firm claims that its office is situated on a land, owned by it, the Dag Number, Patta Number and proof of its ownership of the land should be furnished.
If the office is situated in a rented building and affidavit from the house owner with proof of his ownership should be furnished along with Aadhaar Card of Landlord.
Passport size photograph of all the partners signed by self to be furnished.
Trade License, obtainable from the Municipal Corporation/Municipal Board/Town Committee or Gaon-Panchayat.
PAN Card of all the Partners
Aadhaar Card of all the Partners
Voter ID of all the Partners
Passport of the Partners (For NRI & Foreign Nationals)
If any partner is an assessee for Sales Tax or Income Tax as an individual or he is a partner of any existing firm, which is an assessee for Sales Tax or Income Tax.
The Registration number with the mention of the Unit of the Sales Tax Office and the Permanent Account Number (PAN) or the General Index Register Number (GIR Number) in respect of the income should be stated.
Photocopies of the upto-date Sales Tax clearance certificate and the Income Tax clearance Certificate should be enclosed.
II. Timeline
10 (ten) working days from the date of application, complete in all respects along with documents as per checklist.
III. Fees
Application Fee- Rs. 5/- (Rupees five) only is payable for the purpose through online or treasury Challan under Head of Account "1475 Other General Economic Services Fees under Indian Partnership Act, 1932".
